Dr Blake Giarola is an Australian-trained, CCINR-recognised Neurointerventionalist specialising in minimally invasive treatment of stroke and complex neurovascular disease.
 
He completed advanced neurology training through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians before undertaking multiple Interventional Neuroradiology fellowships across leading Australian centres and internationally at Lariboisière Hospital, Paris. He was awarded the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists Interventional Neuroradiology Scholarship and is certified by the European Society of Minimally Invasive Neurological Thearpy.
 
Dr Giarola’s practice focuses on complex cerebrovascular disease incorporating:
Cerebral aneurysm treatment
Dural arteriovenous fistula management
Intracranial and carotid artery stenting
IIH and venous stenting
MMA embolisation for chronic subdural haematoma
Mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischaemic stroke
 
As a neurology-trained interventionist, he brings a comprehensive understanding of stroke and brain disease to both diagnosis and endovascular treatment.
 
He consults with Specialist Endovascular Services and holds appointments at Royal North Shore Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Northern Beaches Hospital, Westmead Private Hosptial and Macquarie University Hospital.
